AI will largely replace Psychotherapy too

Even though AI is set to replace—or has already largely replaced—not only almost all forms of human rationality and creativity but also the realm of emotional intelligence (such as psychotherapy, coaching, etc.), certain elements remain beyond the reach of artificial intelligence: love, our nature as embodied beings, our physicality, and the depth of direct human encounters—spaces of resonance, touch, and the felt immediacy of non-verbal connection. These remain purely human experiences that cannot be replaced or fulfilled by AI.

The irreplaceable power of love

What ultimately makes us uniquely human is not our intelligence—nor even our emotional intelligence—but our capacity for relationship as embodied beings: the ability to love, to feel compassion, to touch, to resonate with others, and to engage in direct, immediate encounters. It is precisely this dimension that eludes artificial intelligence and remains the exclusive domain of human life.

Genuine encounter and touch

The true asset of the future in the age of AI is not information, but encounter. For what artificial intelligence cannot replace is precisely what gains in value: spaces where people meet directly, touch one another, are moved by one another, perceive each other, and share experiences. Cultivating such spaces of resonance is becoming one of the most important cultural tasks for a society shaped by AI.

Trauma healing is always self-healing

And that is precisely why spaces for experience and healing—such as retreats, where we encounter both our own depths and like-minded others—are becoming increasingly significant.

They serve as an antidote to digital isolation and the hubris of transhumanism, contributing to a deeply felt natural (rather than artificial) intelligence that constitutes our true essence. While artificial intelligence can offer us counsel, it cannot replace the profound encounter with the self, the act of lovingly accompanying oneself, or the activation of our innate self-healing powers. This gift is what makes us unique, distinctive, and living beings—both physical and spiritual. And the plant medicine Ayahuasca constantly reminds us of this healing power of nature and of the fact that we humans are a part of it.
